My Favorite Virus and Malware cleaners and preventers
- Cryptoprevent - This is a MUST HAVE! It prevents viruses and malware (including the deadly cryptolocker ransomware malware) from running out of the appdata (or application data on XP) folder where most try to hide themselves.

- Sandboxie - This is another MUST HAVE! Sandboxie runs your programs in an isolated space which prevents them from making permanent changes to other programs and data in your computer. Running your Web browser under the protection of Sandboxie means that all malicious software downloaded by the browser is trapped in the sandbox and can be discarded trivially.
- Dr.Web CureIt! -FREE anti-virus and anti-spyware utility ( ftp folder use current ######.exe)
- RKILL -RKill just kills processes, imports a Registry file that removes incorrect file associations and fixes policies that stop us from using certain tools. Then it kills Explorer.exe so it will restart and enable some of the Registry changes. When done, RKill will then create a log listing all processes that were terminated while the program was running. Since RKill only terminates processes, after running it you should not reboot your computer as any malware processes that are set to start automatically, will just start up again. Instead, after running RKill you should scan your computer using your malware removal tool of choice.

- ComboFix - swiss army knife of tools to automatically clean a very infected computer
- RogueKiller - is a tool written in C++, which scans the running processes, and kills those which are malicious. It is a tool based on speed execution, which will clean the running processes before being killed, and on demand will clean the registry in order to make a faster and safer disinfection then with the usual tools.
The tool does NOT remove files (except malicious .lnk in the startup folder), so you will have to clean then with MBAM. - Trojan Remover aids in the removal of Malware, Trojan Horses, Worms, Adware,

- Microsoft® Windows® Malicious Software Removal - Microsoft will release an updated version of this tool on the second Tuesday of each month.
- Microsoft Windows Defender (Offline scanner) - runs off a CD or USB stick to scan your PC for malware before Windows loads.
- EXE File Association Fix - some infections load when any exe file is run, this registry fix will remove those associations.
- Unhide.exe – use this tool to remove the hidden flags of files as this infection hides files on your computer from being seen. The drawback of running unhide.exe is, it unhides ALL files even windows system files with default hidden attributes
- Desktop icons missing - Empty program files recovery (also link to many of the programs that I link to above) - These rogues viruses and malware hide files and move desktop shortcuts and Programs startmenu shortcuts into this folder --> %temp%\smtmp, it then creates 4 subdirectories:
